A defibrillator for everyone
When you press the green button, the Philips HeartStart FRx starts voice and visual instructions that guide you through the CPR process. The instructions are easy to follow, adapt to you as the user, and do not continue until the device detects that you are finished. The Philips HeartStart FRx provides guidance throughout the entire CPR process. It also helps you maintain the pace during chest compressions with the aid of a metronome. The recommended rate is 100 compressions per minute.
In addition to a clear on/off button and a red shock button, the Philips HeartStart FRx has an information button. When the information button is pressed during an emergency, the defibrillator provides additional instructions for performing correct chest compressions and ventilation.
Ready for use
A flashing green light indicates that the defibrillator is ready for use. If the defibrillator emits a beeping sound, it requires your attention. Press the blue information button, and the defibrillator will tell you what action is required. This defibrillator performs automatic self-tests, checking its internal functions to ensure operational readiness.
Pediatric key
The Philips HeartStart FRx is easier to use for CPR on children than the Philips HeartStart HS1, which requires separate pads. A pediatric key can be purchased for the FRx and inserted into the defibrillator when used on children up to 8 years old and under 25 kg. When used on children, follow the instructions on the key.
